Alastair McWhirter is Suffolk Constabulary's Chief Constable.
Mr McWhirther, who is 50-years-old, was appointed Suffolk's Chief Constable in December 2002, and he took up the post in February 2003.
Before accepting Suffolk's top policing job, he was the Deputy Chief Constable of Wiltshire Constabulary.
Mr McWhirter, who is married with two children, has pledged to continue with Suffolk First - the drive to make Suffolk the safest county in the country.
“We are well on the way to go to achieving Suffolk First. Despite this, there are challenging times ahead for us, as we seek to maintain and build upon the good work that is already going on here to make Suffolk the safest county in the country,” he said.Click here to read the Chief Constable's Annual Report (3,111kb)
