Neighbourhood Watch Toolkit

Neighbourhood Watch Toolkit
The Home Office, in consultation with the Neighbourhood Watch movement, Police Forces and the National Strategy Group for Watch issues, have re-designed, updated and expanded existing outdated Neighbourhood Watch training material, which was originally designed only for trainers to train Neighbourhood Watch members in Groups.
To make the modules more suitable for direct access by Neighbourhood Watch members and staff working with Neighbourhood Watch it is now available on the internet at the following Neighbourhood & Home Watch Network (NHWN) website address;
http://www.mynhw.co.uk/training-kits.php
The materials retain the basic elements about what is Neighbourhood Watch, how to join and what should/would be done. It now runs to sixteen modules, including three modules on anti-social behaviour, problem-solving and making the links between Neighbourhood Policing and Neighbourhood Watch. There is also be a new interactive element included for the first time.
Because the modules are only available on the internet, they have been made down-loadable so they may be printed off for those without a computer. The beauty of this is that critical updates can be made expediently without the need to change manuals etc. It is hoped Neighbourhood Watch members will dip in and out of these modules as the need arises. |
