Neighbourhood Watch Signs

The display of NW signs on a highway is allowed by the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) Regulations 1992, Schedule 3, Part 1, Class 10.  The Regulations also state the conditions under which a sign should be removed.  Only signs approved by the Chief Constable can be erected in the county. Guidance for where signs can and cannot be erected can be found here.

Public liability insurance exists on all signs erected by the County Council Highways Department and the costs for this is included within the charge for each sign.

If a Watch requires signs to be displayed, any funding for the purchase or erection will be the responsibility of each scheme either from their own funds or through individual sponsorship.

Neighbourhood Watch signs can be ordered through your Community Watch Liaison Officer, please contact them for the current charges.

We can also supply small plastic signs for display on individual properties such as gates and fences.  Order form for these signs can be found here.
